2000 dodge caravan anti lock brakes do not work?

The light after a few attempts to stop normally will illuminate and then the vehicle will stop without pedal back lash. Can I just pull the relay to use the vehicle without anti lock brakes? The anti lock brakes are trying to engage in normal dry stopping conditions. But once the light comes on and this does not always happen but when it does the van will stop normally.
